Emmy-Nominated Host, Writer, Producer, Comedian, Award-winning Filmmaker, Storyteller, People Person
Joe Barlow is a midwestern child of the corn who turned into squinty cowboy.
Raised in Northern Illinois (“practically Wisconsin”), Joe took an early interest in television and video creation. He wrote and edited his first short film in 8th grade and since then has won awards and nominations for his work in TV and film.
Joe worked in local TV for 7 years in various places and in various roles, bringing his comedic style to daytime, to late night, and newscasts at all times.
Highlights included Joe interviewing celebrities like Andy Samberg and writing and starring in a musical parody of Hamilton.
During his time as entertainment reporter on The CW Austin and KXAN (NBC Austin), he won a “Best in City” mention in Austin Monthly and continued to apply his humorous slant to interviews with celebrities, performers, artists, and chefs.
Not one for rest, Joe also hosts a podcast called Heavy Friending. It is the number 1 friendship-based podcast in Austin, Texas (but feel free to not fact check that.) Furthermore, Joe is the creator/host of a travel series called On Location with Joe Barlow. It is his pride and joy. Learn more here.
I think that’s it.
